About Me
My interests are many. I am never content to be a spectator. I love taking photos, particularly scenic ones. My fondness for writing has inspired me to submit articles to magazines and consequently I have had some of my work published.
But music is my thing. My passion for music has grown over the years.
Getting together with friends who share my interest is a special time for me. I've met many good friends through music.
Growing up in the Arkansas ozarks in a musical family, I learned to harmonize at an early age, singing gospel and bluegrass and country songs with my family. I began seriously singing and playing guitar about a dozen years ago.
I am a lifetime member of the Arizona Country/Western Swing Music Association in which I am still active.
I aquired an interest in old time fiddling a few years ago which I am twice past president. The Arizona Old Time fiddlers is perhaps what I am most active in at this point.
Although getting involved in Cowboy Poetry Gatherings, participating in Gatherings across the southwest is very rewarding. I sing the old traditional cowboy songs, cowgirl style. I don't have any direct ranching history, but I have a genuine love and respect for the lifestyle and western heritage.
It has been said, to tell the cowboy's story is to sing his songs. The songs of the cowboy were songs of his life.
I like to think I'm doing my part to help keep the cowboy music alive and help preserve the cowboy way of life.
